Beets are an Amazing Superfood with a wide range of Health Benefits making them a must have veggie for Juicing. They are 88% water and are good sources of Folate and Manganese. They contain other Important Vitamins like Vitamin C, Thiamine, Riboflavin, Vitamin B6 and Minerals like Iron, Magnesium, Phosphorus, Potassium, Sodium and Zinc.

Why you should be Juicing with Beets

Studies have shown that drinking Beet Juice Boosts Physical Performance during strenuous exercise, Increases Stamina, Improves Performance During Intermittent Exercise, and another Study showed that drinking Beet Juice Improves Running Performance.

Here’s a recipe I made which is great to drink before your workout. I added Celery into this recipe which Reduces Inflammation after a workout. I also included some delicious Pineapple. Pineapple contains an enzyme called Bromelain which this Study shows speeds up recovery time after Strenuous Exercise.

Additional Time: 1 minute
Total Time: 4 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 beet
  • 1 gala apple
  • 2 carrots
  • 1 celery stalk
  • 1/4 pineapple (peeled)
  • 1/3 lemon

Instructions

    Juice all of the ingredients. Make sure to pack the pineapple and lemon tightly between the apple and beet to ensure maximum juice extraction!

Beets contain Betalains which are Antioxidant and Anti Inflammatory. (They are also responsible for turning your Urine and Stools red!)

This Study showed that the Nitrates found in Beets Lowers Blood Pressure and are a potential treatment for Cardiovascular Disease. One Study showed their potential to Support Brain Health and Cognitive Function.
